Lemon Creek Winery is proud to announce the release of our vintage 2013 Pinot Noir and 2014 Chardonnay Reserve! These wines are made from 100% estate grown Lemon Creek – Pinot Noir & Chardonnay grapes, in the Lake Michigan Shore Appellation. Most recently, the Pinot Noir received a bronze medal from the International Eastern Wine Competition (East Meets West!), a Silver from the Finger Lake’s International Wine Competition, and a Silver from the Taster’s Guild International Wine Competition. The 2014 Chardonnay Reserve has also won a Bronze medal from the International Eastern and a Silver from the Taster’s Guild International. See below for tasting notes and food pairing suggestions.
2013 Pinot Noir (0): This silky smooth Pinot Noir combines aromas of current and cherry with ripe red fruit flavors. A kiss of oak and vanilla blend with soft rounded tannins to deliver a clean classic Pinot finish.
2014 Chardonnay Reserve (0): A light buttery aroma is heightened by honey and mineral flavors. Whispers of vanilla and apricot on the palate are seductively wrapped in subtle oak nuances. Balanced acidity and a lingering buttercream finish make this a great, not just for summer, food wine.
2013 Pinot Noir: pairs well with salmon, tuna, mildly prepared meat, ham, duck, turkey, stuffed mushrooms, greens, cabbages, potato dishes, various smoked cheeses (including brie and manchego), and dark chocolate.
2014 Chardonnay Reserve: pairs well with cream sauce pastas, cream sauce fish, salmon with citrus, lobster, scallops, smoked cheeses, brie, camembert, gruyere, and parmigiano-reggiano.
